Pantera ( für Panther) ist eine US-amerikanische Metal-Band aus Arlington, Texas. Die Bandgründung wird häufig auf das Jahr 1981 datiert, 2003 kam es zur Trennung der Gruppe. Im Juli 2022 wurde bekannt, dass für 2023 eine Reunion-Tour geplant ist. Panteras Musik hatte starken Einfluss auf die Entwicklung des modernen Metal. Pantera verkaufte etwa 40 Millionen Tonträger und gehört damit zu den erfolgreichsten Bands des Genres.
