Avatar Sequel Announcement Coming Soon :hop:

It seems we can expect an announcement in the very near future about when our next trip to Pandora will be. Associated Press is reporting that director James Cameron revealed Avatar 2 will take three years to make, a year and a half less than it took him to make Avatar.

Cameron, who was in South Korea to talk about 3D technology at the Seoul Digital Forum, said that the release date for Avatar 2 should be announced in the next few months.

We reported last month that Avatar 2 would likely delve into the vast oceans of Pandora :mOoSe:. We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further details on Avatar 2 as soon as we have more information. Avatar has earned a record-breaking $2.71 billion at the global box office and they have sold nearly 20 million copies of the DVD thus far.

Avatar 2 is in development . The film is directed by James Cameron.

As it seems, the sequel is set to focus on the oceans of Pandora.

"We created a broad canvas for the environment of film. That's not just on Pandora, but throughout the Alpha Centauri AB system. And we expand out across that system and incorporate more into the story - not necessarily in the second film, but more toward a third film. I've already announced this, so I might as well say it:

Part of my focus in the second film is in creating a different environment - a different setting within Pandora. And I'm going to be focusing on the ocean on Pandora, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won't be a rain forest. I'm not saying we won't see what we've already seen; we'll see more of that as well."

nach verschiebungen auf 2017, dann 2018, dann 2020, dann 2021, jetzt auf 2022.

Erinnert sich irgendwer noch an den ersten Teil? Ich meine so von sich aus mal, nicht nur wenn man es irgendwo liest und dann so ne "ach stimmt, den gabs ja" Reaktion ausgelöst wird. Fand den ja damals schon eher so ok, nichts Besonderes halt, aber es scheint halt auch sonst einfach nie wieder drüber geredet worden zu sein. Als hätte es den nie gegeben.

Manchmal wenn ich an 3D Demos denke. Darüber hinaus war es kein Film der eine Anwesenheit in meinem Kopf verdient.

Ist zwar nicht meine Art von Film mit dem Science-Fiction, aber das 3D war damals schon saugeil und der erste Film wo so gezeigt wurde und im Kino war das schon stark damals. Ist halt bis heute immer noch der erfolgreichste Film aller Zeiten, also kanns nicht so schlecht gewesen sein. :-D Wie es ausging und um was es ging da kann ich mich schon erinnern, auch wenn ich in nur 1x im Kino und dann kurz darauf noch 1-2 mal auf DVD gesehen habe.
Aber ja, an Filme wie Titanic, Pearl Harbor oder König der Löwen erinnere ich mich eher zurück und hau mal die Musik/Soundtracks dazu rein. Titanic und Pearl Harbor einfach weil es klasse Filme mit super Musik sind und König der Löwen weil es mein erster Kinofilm damals war und der beste von Disney. Und natürlich weil die Filme eher was für mich sind, da sie (Titanic, Pearl Harbor) reale/realitätsnahe Geschichten erzählen und kein Science-Fiction. Aber die Musik von Avatar war damals auch super! An die anderen Filme erinnert man sich halt öfters weil es von Jurassic Park / World, James Bond ja immer wieder neue Filme gibt und bei Fast & Furious gibts mittlerweile zu viele dass man die gar nimmer ernst nehmen kann. :-D Auch bei Harry Potter gabs viele Filme und Nachfolge oder Herr der Ringe, auch wenn ich das alles nie geglotzt hab weil Science-Fiction eigentlich nicht so meins ist.
